“Businesses can always profit from meeting new people, networking, and enriching their local communities.”
The Carewright, LLC was invited by Connect 4 Impact to participate in a community project which brought together local businesses and non-profits in the Fort Collins Area. The idea was to match the needs of non-profits in our community with business experts who could help them achieve their goals.
About Connect 4 Impact
Connect 4 Impact is an outcome of Leadership Fort Collins, a leadership program offered by the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce. The program tasks its distinguished participants to come up with an idea that will help propel northern Colorado to the next level through understanding its history, government, economy, social issues, needs and local opportunities.
The participants in the program started Connect 4 Impact out of a passion to build a stronger community. Its mission has been to make the community stronger by connecting skilled workers volunteering to contribute their knowledge, expertise and time to nonprofits in the Fort Collins area with limited resources. Its vision of helping non profits by matching them with local businesses culminated in its event, held April 20, 2016 at the Wolverine Letterpress & Publick House. The event was creatively fashioned to follow a fun “speed dating” format, complete with local brew and snacks to please the palate of any foodie. Likewise, Wolverine was a very light, open and airy space to hold the gathering.
Among the nonprofits participating were: Disabled Resources, Friends of Happy Heart Farm, Fort Collins Symphony, SpokesBuzz, Open Stage, Sage Global Educators, Habitat for Humanity, BASE Camp, Neighbor to Neighbor, Crossroads Safehouse, The National MS Society, Laramie River Valley Rendezvous, Homeless Prevention, Food Bank for Larimer County, Volunteers of America – CO Branch and City of Fort Collins Restorative Justice.
We had the pleasure of visiting with representatives of the Fort Collins Symphony, Sage Global Educators, Habitat for Humanity and Food Bank for Larimer County. We enjoyed learning about each of these organization’s challenges and unique operational concerns that brought them to this unique event. Ultimately, Connect 4 Impact “matched” us with Food Bank for Larimer County to help them build a new website. They are a great organization with a huge impact in our community and we are looking forward to helping them meet their goals.
In closing, we are very grateful to Connect 4 Impact for inviting us to participate in this important event. It facilitated in providing networking and skilled service donations to 15 nonprofit organizations. They anticipate that the resulting collaborations will result in over 100 volunteer hours with a value of over $20,000 in donated skills/services. With those numbers we’d say they did a great job in fulfilling their vision!
The Carewright, LLC would highly recommend Connect 4 Impact as a great resource for nonprofits to get lots of resources, advice and solutions. Likewise businesses can always profit from meeting new people, networking, and enriching their local communities.
